Nokia has gone ahead and unveiled another classic feature phone, the 8110 at MWC this year. This is not just any feature phone but the successor to what was named the 'banana phone' when it first launched. The phone which featured in The Matrix back in the day and also features the slider that one just cannot get enough of. HMD Global has even gone ahead and launched the phone in a bright yellow shade.

However, the Nokia 8110 is not just a feature phone but what HMD Global likes to call a 'smart feature phone'. That's because this is 4G-enabled feature phone with Nokia's new Smart Feature OS.

While it is certainly not equivalent to an Android operating system, Nokia is looking forward to adding some popular daily apps and services to the OS, provided the developers are onboard.

Smart Feature OS also has its own app store which has been named the Smart Feature Play Store. Does it run WhatsApp? Well, not yet but it does come with a number of other apps like Facebook, Twitter and even the Google Assistant.

In terms of internals, the 8110 comes with a humble 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage which may sound like peanuts in comparison to current Android flagships, but again, this is a feature phone.

In terms of pricing, the Nokia 8110 has been priced at $79 which means that it may roughly cost Rs 5,000 - Rs 6,000 when it arrives in India.
