Three killed in separate road accidents

Three persons were killed in separate accidents that took place in the district late Sunday and on Monday.

Girish Nair, 42, of Mannamoola, was killed after sustaining serious injuries in an accident that had taken place in Poojappura on Sunday evening.

The scooter he was travelling on collided with another. While the other motorist escaped with a minor bruise, Girish was soon rushed to a private hospital. He succumbed to his injuries on Monday, the police said.

In another incident, an elderly woman was killed after being knocked down by a scooter in Kadakkavoor.

The deceased, identified as Pankajakshi, 72, of Thonikadavu, was hit by by the two-wheeler while she was crossing a road. Despite being rushed to the Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital, her life could not be saved.

In the third incident, a 37-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being hit by a truck in Kattakada. The deceased has been identified as Moby of Thoongampara.
