Essel Infraprojects Ltd, a unit of Essel Group joined the former Adani senior finance professional Vinod Bhandawat as the company's new Chief Financial Officer earlier in February, the company said in a release on Tuesday.
In Essel Infraprojects, Bhandawat's capital-raising and M&A expertise is likely to play a strategic role. In his more than 26 years experience, he has held pivotal positions in leading diversified companies like Adani Power and Vedanta Group. The appointment is effective February 1, the company release said.
“It’s truly an exciting opportunity to join a market-leader like Essel Infra, especially in the current scenario where sizeable investment is expected in the infra space,” the new CFO said in an email.
As Essel Infraprojects has big plans in the infra space with its recent foray into electric vehicles (EV) segment with over Rs 4,000 crore investment, Bhandawat's strategic experience is likely to play an integral part in this new role.
Speculation is rife about the company's IPO offer as well. The company had earlier planned to go public three years ago in 2015, but withdrew amid economic downturn.
Incorporated in 2007, Essel Infraprojects Ltd (EIL) is one of the fastest growing companies having diversified interests in infrastructure projects.
The Noida-based company has operations across entire infra space including roads and highways, power, water and wastewater, municipal solid waste and waste-to-energy and integrated utilities.
