New Delhi, February 26

Former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian passed away on Monday. “He had been unwell for a month and he passed away peacefully early this morning,” said a family member. The cremation will take place at 5:30 pm today evening at Lodhi Crematorium in New Delhi.

Subramanian was a 1961 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service of the Uttar Pradesh cadre. He was also posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles. He later also headed several government committees including those on education and environment and was also the author of a number of books.

“Extremely shocked to hear the sad news of the demise of T S R Subramanian. He was the tallest amongst all and is a big loss for the IAS fraternity and the nation,” said the IAS Association.
