BPCL, DY Patil Sports 'B' enter quarter-finals of T20 tourney

Corporation and 'B' entered the quarter-finals of the 14th T20 Cup after successful chases in their final league matches today. At the Talegaon Ground, Indian Oil suffered a five-wicket defeat against 'B' in the first game while BPCL won a high-scoring contest later against 'A' by seven wickets. Indian Oil posted a moderate 141-9 in their 20 overs with (29), (24) and Siddhesh Lad (20) being the main contributors. For 'B', Vineet Sinha (4-34) and Raunaq Sharma (2-21) were the best bowlers on view. In their response, 'B' were struggling when wicket-keeper Hardik Tamore hit a blistering half century (53 not out in 33 balls with three sixes and as many fours) changed the course of the game. Scores: Indian Oil 141-9 in 20 overs (29, 24; Vineet Sinha 4-34, Raunaq Sharma 2-21) lost to 'B' 142-5 in 19.1 overs (Hardik Tamore 53 not out, Aditya Gadwwal 30, 24; 2-27) by 5 wickets. 'A' 180-7 in 20 overs (Ruturaj Gaikwad 44, Manjot Kalra 42, 32, Yogesh Takawale 24; Shivam Dubey 3-29) lost to BPCL 184-3 in 16.4 overs (Mandeep Singh 48, Suryakumar Yadav 45 not out, 39, 34 not out; Shubham Ranjane 2-32 by 7 wickets.
