‘82% voting good for democracy’

The EVMs containing votes of 82 per cent of Bijepur electorates have been kept under tight security after maintaining of a due process and voting would be conducted in a hassle-free manner on February 28, said Election Commission of India Observer Abhishek Chandra.
Thanking voters for exercising franchise in a peaceful manner, Chandra said an 82 percentage voting is a good sign for democracy. He said all EMS have been kept locked in the presence of representatives of candidates and paramilitary forces are guarding them. Like the by-poll was conducted peacefully, counting of votes would be done smoothly, he hoped.
