A KSRTC bus driver has been arrested for attempting to rape a woman at JP Park in Matthikere.
The suspect, Shambhu Mariyappagowdara, was arrested based on a complaint filed by the 31-year-old victim on February 21.
The women in the complaint said the suspect, who is now out on bail, dragged her into a bush and attempted to rape her. The incident happened around 11.30 am when she had gone to the park for a morning walk.
Shocked by the sudden attack, the woman shouted for help, following which walkers in the park chased and caught the suspect, the police said.
