News video: Nokia Is Bringing Back Its Classic ‘Matrix’ Phone Nokia is bringing back its “Matrix” phone.

Made popular by a four-minute action scene, Nokia’s 8110 model came out of retirement for the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

“It’s fun it’s fantastic value, it’s obviously got a retro appeal about it from Nokia’s heritage.

But obviously it’s got 21st century connectivity.” Nokia Phones’ Mark Dence stated.

The “banana phone” has 4GB of storage built in, but it also has a slot for a micro SD card, giving you the option for more storage — which probably won’t be necessary since the back-facing camera is only 2MP — definitely not much by today’s standards.

It also has 512MB of RAM, mostly for playing snake, which comes pre-loaded.

“You’ll also be able to get Facebook and Twitter.” Dence explained.

“It’s got an amazing 25-day standby battery life, and nine hours of talk time.

You can take it on holiday without your charger and have 25 days of battery life.” But one major advantage to this phone is its battery life, since there’s not a huge screen to power, it lasts significantly longer.

This retro gadget won’t replace your smartphone — but you can definitely use it as a vacation phone, a backup phone or a really cool burner phone..
