JAMMU: Panun Kashmir today hailed the United States' decision to keep under scrutiny Pakistan for the transfer of funds to various terror organisations.

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global body that combats terrorist financing and money laundering, took the decision on Friday to put Pakistan on the grey list for terror financing.

The US suspended over USD 1.15 billion security assistance to Pakistan, accusing Islamabad of harbouring terror groups such as the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network within its border and showing unwillingness to take "decisive actions" against them.

"We express satisfaction over the statements made by the US Administration at Paris and Pentagon simultaneously regarding the involvement of Pakistan in facilitating the flow of funds to terror networks being nurtured on its soil," the organisation's president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said here.

He said that since Pakistan has been put on the Global Watch-List of countries that nurture and provide funds to terror networks, it assumes significance in the context of the fight against terrorism at the international level.

"Moreover, it gives an extra edge to India to put its point of view about cross border terrorism and the menace of radicalisation before the global audiences," he said.

Panun Kashmir is an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Hindus.
