Police said the car continued at high speed on the Old Cleveland Road exit where it smashed into the back of two cars stopped at a red light.
It would further be alleged the car drove onto the wrong side of several residential streets, narrowly avoiding head-on crashes with traffic.
The driver then abandoned the car and ran across the Mount Gravatt Showgrounds.
PolAir vision shows him awkwardly fall over a fence, before slipping over and crushing his groin against a fence post.
Seconds later, he was caught by a police dog and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with arm injuries.
A 22-year-old Mount Gravatt East man has since been released from hospital but remains in police custody.
