VISAKHAPATNAM: Ensuring availability of raw material, incentives, quick grievance redressal system and setting up of testing and certification centres are some of the important policy mechanisms required for the faster development of aerospace and defence (A and D) sector in AP, said delegates at the Partnership Summit-2018.

They were speaking at a panel discussion on ‘Role AP Can Play in Facilitating Success of Make in India in A and D Sector’ on the second day of the three-day summit. They said besides faster approvals, it is equally important to have an ecosystem for the promotion of the sector.

Talking on the proposed defence sector MSMEs in Gannavaram near Vijayawada, the chairman and managing director of Vem Technologies said, “To set up a unit in Gannavaram, we need some raw materials and chemicals. So, the government needs to look at creating that ecosystem immediately.”
