The Assembly election in Karnataka may be held around mid-May, with the poll date to be announced around April 15.
"School board examinations are likely to be over by March-end, and other examinations around April 14. We will announce the poll date around April 15," Chief Election Commissioner O P Rawat told NDTV on Monday.
Rawat and the election commissioners are likely to visit Karnataka in the first week of April to review arrangements.
The tenure of the Karnataka Assembly will end on May 28.
