Some netizens like Soumyadipta on Twitter raised questions about her sudden death, especially by connecting it to the fact that the Dubai authorities had asked for an autopsy.
Sridevi was hale and hearty even five days before she passed away. She was not suffering from any kind of ailment, not even minor. The industry knows that Sridevi was a health conscious lady and was very fit, even at 54 years.

"Like millions of her fans, I want to know how could she die so suddenly? How come a fit person collapse just like that? Why didn't the hotel staff arrange for a doctor when she didn't come out of her room for two days? Wasn't the hotel staff trained in CPR, why wasn't it applied?", wrote Soumyadipta.
Due to the circumstances surrounding #SrideviDeath, the Dubai authorities have asked for a postmortem to be conducted on her body. The PM will now take place and hence the funeral has been postponed to tomorrow. Sridevi's mortal remains are still in Dubai. (Thread)

It gave rise to rumours attributing the cause for her death to the multiple cosmetic surgeries the actor allegedly underwent.
I'll remember #Sridevi as THE early exponent of cosmetic surgery. Gave Michael Jackson a serious run on the nose front. Won't be surprised if her demise was caused by Botulinus poisoning.

However, conducting an autopsy of a deceased person who is from a different country, especially in a big case, is a routine practice. This invariably caused a delay in bringing back the celebrated actress' remains to India. The remains are expected to be brought by a chartered flight tomorrow.
Even Soumyadipta later came out clarifying and saying that nothing was suspicious surrounding Sridevi's death so far.
Strict protocols are being followed as a foreigner has died before reaching the hospital in Dubai. Till now, no development is out of place. All developments are routine.

Her elder daughter -- Janhvi -- had not travelled with the family because of the shooting schedule for her upcoming Bollywood film 'Dhadak', her first in the industry.
Sridevi, known for her versatility as an actor, made her Bollywood debut in 1978 with "Solva Sawan".
But it was only after five years with Jeetendra-starrer "Himmatwala" that she gained commercial success.
Before her entry into Bollywood, the actor had been a known face in South Indian films.
While films like "Mawaali" (1983), "Tohfa" (1984), "Mr India" (1987) and "Chandni" (1989) kept her at the top in the box-office game, her outings like "Sadma" (1983), "ChaalBaaz" (1989), "Lamhe" (1991), and "Gumrah" (1993) earned her critical acclaim.
She went on a hiatus for 15 years after starring in home production "Judaai", co-starring her brother-in-law Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.
The actress marked her comeback with the bilingual movie 'English Vinglish' in 2012. Her last appearance was a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's 'Zero'.
