In a tragic incident, two persons were killed on the spot, and two others received grievous injuries when their car was involved in a head-on collision with an APSRTC bus at Thumburu village of Narayanavanam mandal on Tirupati-Chennai NH, 15 km from Puttur, on Monday morning around 8.30 am.
The Narayanavanam police said that the car carrying four persons, believed to be two couples from Chennai were travelling Tirumala, collided with the bus on its way to Chennai from Tirumala. Due to bad condition of the road both vehicles lost control. The deceased, a man and a woman, were yet to be identified. The injured who were battling for life were shifted to SVRR Government hospital at Tirupati. The RTC driver surrendered to the area police. A case was registered.
