Health Minister J P Nadda today launched the viral load testing for people living with HIV (PLHIV) in New Delhi.
On the occasion, Mr Nadda said, it is a historic day and viral load test will be a big step forward in treating and monitoring people living with HIV. He said, this shall be provided free of cost to all 12 lakh affected people.
Mr Nadda said, routine viral load testing is of immense importance to monitor the effectiveness of treatment of patients taking lifelong anti-retroviral therapy so that any failure can be detected early. Health Minister also released the national guidelines for viral load testing for monitoring viral load suppression.
