The Lenovo 100e, 300e and 500e have launched a while ago but they never went on sale. Lenovo hence saw MWC as the right platform to announce that the 300e and 500e models are finally on sale on its e-commerce platform.

What sets the 100e, 300e and 500e apart from regular Chromebooks is the fact that these are ruggedised to withstand quite a beating if needed. Lenovo on its blog states that the Chromebooks come with rubber bumpers, reinforced ports and hinges and spill-resistant keyboards with reinforced keys to take care of the bumps and spills that may occur.

The entry-level Lenovo 100e model has a traditional laptop design whereas the 300e and 500e variants have a 360-degree hinge similar to its Yoga lineup. Lenovo has also thrown in pen support for the 300e and 500e along with its 'Enhanced Touch' capability. Enhanced Touch allows everyday objects like pencils and other plastic or non-conductive objects to interact with the display. The 500e variant also features an EMR stylus which comes with the Chromebook.

As far as pricing is concerned, the Lenovo 500e Chromebook is priced at $349, the 300e at $279 and the 100e at $219.
