Actress Sridevi passed away in her hotel room in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai, at 11pm on Saturday, a source in the Indian Consulate in Dubai revealed. Sridevi's death certificate has confirmed that her cause of death is accidental drowning.

They found traces of alcohol in her body and this may have led to the accident. “The investigation is still going on to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident as the forensic report only says that she drowned,” Gulf News reported.

According to reports her body will soon be moved to the Al Muhaisana embalming unit and will be repatriated to Mumbai this evening.

Sridevi, Boney Kapoor, and their younger daughter Khushi Kapoor were in Ras Al Khaimah last week to celebrate the wedding of her actor-nephew Mohit Marwah.
