Training of the first batch of Odisha Government ITI teachers and officials under a “two-week leadership development programme” would commence at the Institute of Technical Education in Singapore from Monday (February 26).
This is the lead project of the MoU signed on November 2, 2017 between the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) and the ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore (a subsidiary of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore)for collaboration on “Skill Development in Odisha”.
The OSDA aims to transform the skill development ecosystem in the State through this collaboration. As part of the collaboration, the ITEES will share the ITE’s experiences and provide support to the OSDA in raising the quality of skill development and vocational training.
The ITEES will conduct the training on leadership development for 100 leaders of the Government-run ITIs that are in the forefront of TVET in the State. The Board of the Temasek Foundation International has agreed to sponsor the training in Singapore.
The first batch left for Singapore on Saturday.
The programmes also aim to enhance capabilities in the areas of healthcare, education, public administration, urban management and disaster-response.
