Panic grips Bhanpur after wild bear injures 6 people

Panic gripped the Bhanpur area after a wild bear appeared in residential area and attacked six people including a minor girl in the morning on Sunday. The injured have been hospitalised and their condition is reportedly out of danger.

In the rampage staged by the wild bear, people of three villages were injured during the day on Sunday. The bear was first spotted at People Mall, it moved towards Sabri Nagar and later it was spotted in Raslakhedi.

The injured were rushed to hospital where condition of the injured is reportedly stable. Among the injured Mansaram, a forest guard and driver of Director of Indian Institute of Soil Sciences (IISS) Sukhram were attacked by the wild bear.

The bear after the incident went hiding in farm field of wheat which has made the search difficult for the forest department.

The forest has assured to provide help in medical treatment to the victims and department has provided financial assistance of Rs 5, 000 to severely injure while those who sustained minor injuries were provided with Rs 1, 000.

The department has dispatched teams for search operation. Till the filing of the report the forest guards and employees continued to search for the wild bear.
