NGOs come together to educate people on holistic solutions

At the Nageshwarar Rao park on Sunday, a group of children were learning how to upcycle dry waste into innovative gifts and residents of the locality were interacting with members of the Mylapore SWM club on how to start compost pits.

More such workshops, stalls and open mic sessions focussing on bringing about holistic solutions to promote solid waste management were part of the ‘Kuppai Thiruvizha’, organised by the Citizen Consumer and Civic Action Group (CAG).

“CAG had conceived a collaborative platform called ‘Kuppai Matters’ with different organisations to build a unified platform around solid waste management and to look beyond disposal governance,” said Kripa Ramachandran, a researcher at CAG.

As a part of the festival, a participatory planning meeting was held in which members from resident welfare associations took part.
