AICC president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a tour of Mumbai Karnataka, visited the Saundatti Yallamma temple on Monday. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah , district in-charge Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, AICC secretary Satish Jarkiholi, KPCC president G. Parameshwar, temple committee president Ramanagouda Tiparashi, and others were present. Being a Monday, the number of visitors to the temple was less than other days.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi was escorted to the temple complex by the temple administrator Ravi Kotargasti and others. A small pooja was performed. He spent a few minutes in the temple premises inquiring about the amenities created for pilgrims.

Earlier, Mr. Gandhi held a road show from Ramdurg to Godchi village on Monday. Hundreds of people, young and old and women, lined up to greet him. Mr Gandhi stood at the door of his vehicle and shook hands with some of them. He also got down to speak to a farmer working in a field. He address a rally in Saundatti later.

He also visited Sri Veerabhadreshwara temple in Godchi village in Ramdurg taluk.
