Key benchmark indices extended early gains and hit fresh intraday high in morning trade. At 10:25 IST, the barometer index, the Sensex, was up 244.04 points or 0.71% at 34,386.19. The index was up 79.80 points or 0.76% at 10,570.85. Positive global cues boosted investors' sentiment.

The Sensex rose 265.93 points, or 0.78% at the day's high of 34,408.08 in morning trade, its highest level since 16 February 2018. The index rose 83.57 points, or 0.24% at the day's low of 34,225.72 in early trade. The Nifty rose 78.75 points, or 0.75% at the day's high of 10,569.80 in morning trade, its highest level since 16 February 2018.

The index rose 29.15 points, or 0.28% at the day's low of 10,520.20 in early trade.

Among secondary barometers, the Mid-Cap index was up 0.65%, underperforming the Sensex. The Small-Cap index was up 0.76%, outperforming the Sensex.
