Arsenal vs Manchester City, EFL Cup final: England’s first domestic silverware of the 2017-18 season went to Manchester City as they beat Arsenal 3-0 to clinch the EFL Cup. Goals from Aguero, Kompany, and Silva gives Man City their first trophy of the Pep Guardiola era. Throughout the match, City exerted their authority and superiority over a lackluster Arsenal. The gunners looked disjointed from the start and never looked like posing a real threat. For his brilliant performance in the match, skipper Vincent Kompany was awarded the Man of the Match. Reflecting on his team’s win a delighted Kompany said, “Before the game I thought I would score. I’m training well, I’m supporting the lads when I don’t play, and when I do play I give everything I have. I’m really proud of the team. It’s worth every minute of hard work recovering from injury for days like this.” Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger and his side have a lot to think about as they regroup from back to back defeats in Europa League and EFL Cup final.
