Nagpur: City police have increased vigilance checks and raids against illegal activities and racketeers as part of their pre-Holi preparation. The cops have also started deterrent actions against known criminals and history-sheeters so as to keep the festival free of untoward incidents.
As a part of the clean-up drive in the city, Pachpaoli police have seized substantial country liquor after intercepting two racketeers on bike, identified as Sandeep Sangole and Sonu Kondbattuwar, at Khairipura chowk last week. The cops have seized nearly 144 liquor bottles, each 180ml, worth Rs7,488. The bikes used by the racketeers for ferrying the liquor bottles was also seized. An offence has been registered against the two at Pachpaoli
police station.
The action of the Pachpaoli police station was conducted by Assistant PI Vijay Kasodhan and his team comprising constables Vinayak Ingle, Vinod Barde and others under the supervision of PI Narendra Hiware.
Similar
checking are also being conducted in other parts of the city too. Senior officials have issued instructions to the police station in-charges for conducting raids on the bootleggers, gambling dens and other illegal activities until
Holi is over.
