Parents’, Alumni Assns stand by KISS

The KISS Parents’ Association, the KISS Alumni Association and the Odisha Adivasi Forum urged the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs to provide permanent financial assistance to the KISS Deemed University as provided to other tribal organisations.

Besides, they also requested the State Government to provide more than  100 acres of land to the university.

Members made these demands at a Press meet held here on Saturday. Members strongly condemned devious persons who are mentally torturing ribal students of the university and are conspiring to close the university.

They alleged that some scheming people are spreading rumours against the university by which students, parents and alumni members have been disturbed.

Parents apprehended that their wards’ future would be destroyed if the KISS is closed by the actions of devious people. They said, if such a situation arises, thousands of tribal students would be forced to go into jungles and join Maoist ranks.

The members said if any organisation or any person tries to insult the KISS, the adivasi community would oppose them.

They also threatened that if the demands are not fulfiled at the earliest they would gherao the State Assembly and the Governor House in coming days.
