Old Goa panchayat remains evasive over inclusion in PDA

| Feb 26, 2018, 03:14 IST
Panaji: A discussion on inclusion of areas of Old Goa panchayat in the Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority did not progress much, as panchayat authorities maintained that they are awaiting a clarification on some issues.

A sizeable crowd had gathered at the meeting chaired by sarpanch Janita Madkaikar, while local MLA and power minister Pandurang Madkaikar was present. Members said they are opposed to the inclusion in the proposed PDA. Panchayat secretary Ashish Naik said that the panchayat has not received any communication from authorities about the proposed inclusion. The proposals have been notified in the official gazette in December 2017. Naik said they had sought clarification from the TCP minister about the notification.
