Just hours ahead of the launch of new Nokia phones and the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9, Xiaomi stole the limelight to announce the launch of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s on March 27. The company took to Twitter to tease the phone with a big number, which is likely to be the phone’s AnTuTu benchmark scores.
The Mi Mix 2S was earlier rumoured to launch at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but turns out, it is going to take on the Huawei P20 which is also scheduled on the same day.
Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is going to be the first Snapdragon 845-powered smartphone by Xiaomi.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S has leaked multiple times on the internet which gives us a clear idea of what to expect. The phone is going to sport an edge-to-edge bezel-less display, much like last time. But instead of the front camera housed below the display, this time, it will be housed in the right most corner using a tiny cutout in the display.
Apart from this, there’s nothing much known about the phone. There are vague rumours that it will sport an under-display fingerprint sensor along maintaining the single-camera setup from last year.
The phone is likely to launch in China first on March 27, and based on Xiaomi’s previous record, the phone might take some time to make its way to India.
