Heavy rain lashed Shimla intensifying cold waves in the hills. The mercury dropped following intermittent rain and thunderstorm. Shimla and the surrounding areas were lashed by rain accompanied by high-velocity winds and lightning but snowfall eluded the state capital. Meanwhile, Kullu received fresh snowfall covering the hill station with a white sheet of snow. Tourists thronged to the hill station to behold the picturesque sight.
