Panaji: The government’s proposal of inclusion of Curca-Bambolim-Talaulim villages in Greater Panaji Planning and Development Authority was rejected unanimously by members and 11 panchas on Sunday.

At the meeting chaired by sarpanch Maria D’Cunha, locals Rama Kankonkar, Suresh Palkar and Manguesh Kuttikar spoke about various aspects of the destruction and demographic changes likely to be brought about by PDA-oriented development.

The packed panchayat premises witnessed a lively debate, as the speakers pointed out adverse impact of PDA inclusion.

All the panch members, including the sarpanch stood up in support of the resolution when it was passed. tnn
