Nokia made its comeback last year at MWC, and its lineup in 2017 seemed like the company was testing the waters. This time around, we may see Nokia turn the clock back and make some bolder choices. You can watch the event live on Nokia's Facebook page here, and on its website here, at 8:30 IST today.
The company is expected to unveil a bunch of new smartphones at the event, just like last time. The highlight of the lot is expected to be the Nokia 7 Plus. The new phone is tipped to be a mid-range device that could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. It is also expected to be the the first device by the company to offer an 18:9 display aspect ratio. The device is also tipped to feature a dual-rear camera setup. Notable leakser, Evan Blass recently said that this phone might be a part of Google’s Android One program.
HMD Global is also expected to launch the Nokia 1 smartphone. The device is tipped to come with budget-level specifications with either 512MB or 1GB of RAM. However, the phone is expected to run on Android Oreo (Go Edition), which is specifically designed to run smoothly on devices with low-end hardware. Further, its should be noted that Google recently confirmed that there are going to be Android Go and new Android One devices at MWC.
Aside from this, Nokia may also launch a global variant of the Nokia 6 (2018). The smartphone has already been launched in China and features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB of RAM. At the back is a 16MP camera, while at the front is an 8MP unit.
Besides these, we might also see a new flagship smartphone from the company. Tipped to be called the Nokia 9, the smartphone is tipped to sport a 5.5-inch QHD OLED display and might be powered by a Snapdragon 835. It is also expected to sports a dual-rear camera setup with two 12MP cameras. We might also see device sporting the Snapdragon 450 called the Nokia 4, as well as the launch of the 4G variant of the Nokia 3310 features.
