Govt forms Niti forum for inclusive growth of northeast

A special forum has been created to accelerate central government's efforts to boost inclusive growth in the northeastern region of the country, said today. Singh said the forum for northeast will have its secretariat office in the of North Eastern Region (DoNER). "The exclusive Aayog forum will work with the objective to identify various constraints in the way of accelerated, inclusive and sustainable economic growth of the eight states of the northeastern region of India," the told It will recommend suitable interventions for addressing the identified constraints, he said. The chief secretaries of all the eight states of the northeastern region will also be members of the forum. In addition, secretary, (NEC) will be member secretary, while (North East) in MHA and several other experts from other fields will be members.
