| | BHUBANESWAR | in Bhubaneswar

Two unclaimed plastic bags triggered a bomb scare among the passengers in the Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express near the Madhira station in Khammam district of Telangana on Saturday.

The suspected objects were detected inside S-11 coach by Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials between the Warangal and Khammam railway stations.

Sources said the train was detained at the Madhira station and the suspected objects were removed. A bomb squad carried out a thorough operation with the help of sniffer dogs to detect presence of any explosives in the bags. But fortunately, no explosives were found. Later, the South Central Railways confirmed that the boxes only contained paint materials.

Reports said the train had departed from the Bhubaneswar station at around 3 pm.
