‘Complete all survey work for Rly project by March 15’

Chief Secretary Ajay Singh on Saturday reviewed the ongoing work for several railway track projects across the State at the Mantralaya here.

The Chief Secretary was informed in the meeting that the survey work for Jagdalpur to Kondagaon railway track laying comprising length of 91.76 kms had been completed for Jagdalpur-Rowghat Railway Track project.

It was also informed in the meeting that the survey work for Kondagaon to Rowghat for the 91.6 kms to 140 kms distance in under progress.

The Chief Secretary directed the officials to complete all survey work for the project by March 15, 2018.

The Chief Secretary also sought information on status of land acquisition, compensation distribution and power line extension from the concerned district collectors.

Singh directed officials that there should be no delay in distribution of compensation to the project affected.

He also reviewed the progress status of East Rail Corridor Project.

Notably, Rowghat-Jagdalpur Rail line project will be helpful in reduction of distance by about 260 kms and facilitate NMDC Ltd in the cost competitiveness of iron ore supplies in Raipur region, officials informed.

This railway line will also be helpful for the company’s upcoming Steel Plant project at Nagarnar in Bastar for inward and outward traffic and also provide a better customer connectivity for Iron Ore and Steel customers, they informed.

Notably, NMDC is also participating in the Rowghat-Jagdalpur Rail line project as a major stake holder with 43 per cent share along with SAIL, IRCON & Govt. of Chhattisgarh being other stake holders with 21 per cent , 26 per cent and 10 per cent respectively. 

On the other hand, Chhattisgarh Government would be earmarking suitable land banks in the vicinity of Dallirajahara-Rowghat-Jagdalpur Rail Corridor for setting up of small industrial units, officials informed.
