Ravenshaw dev forum holds meet

The Ravenshaw Bikash Abhijan held a meeting here on Friday to discuss about the various problems of the historic institution, the Ravenshaw University. It was presided over by forum president Chitaranjan Mohanty.

In the meeting, the members decided to meet the university Vice-Chancellor soon and would present their various demands.

The demands included maintaining democratic rights of students, appointment of adequate regular lecturers and non-teaching staffs as per the UGC guidelines, no cut in the number of seats in various departments, hike in number of seats in MPhil and PhD, regularization of self financing courses, renovation of the Kanika library and starting the second campus work soon.

The members said it is unfortunate that the authorities are decreasing the seats in the regular courses and converting them into self-financing courses. Among others, secretary Siddhartha Rath, Khirod Mohapatra, Akhaya Das, Laxmipriya Mohanty, Sisir Das, Sukant Nayak, Jugal Nayak, Pradeep Patnaik, Prasant Panda, Kamiludin Mohammad, Gita Das, Khageswar Sethi, Enamul Haque, Purnachandra Chatoi and Pavel Priyadarshan were present.
