Coimbatore: Four environmental activists and two social workers, who provide food to the city’s needy, were honoured at ‘Let’s Thank’, an event organised by the Let’s Thank Foundation on Saturday.
B Yoganathan, a bus conductor, has planted more than 3 lakh saplings across Tamil Nadu. P Janakan, an engineer who quit his job to practise natural farming, PK Selvaraj, who has been working to rejuvenate River Koushika and Arun Krishnamurthy, the founder of the Environmentalist Foundation of India were the environmental activists honoured. Along with them, Raja Sethu Murali, founder of Pasiyara Soru and Ilayaraja, founder of Un Unavu Ippadikku Pasi were honoured for charitable activities.
Students of 40 schools in the city, who took part in tree plating drives as part of ‘My Tree 2017’ project of the foundation, were also honoured at the event along with Carnatic musician SR Krishnamurthy.
