KARIMNAGAR:  A person was arrested for subjecting his 11-year-old boy to gruesome physical torture. The boy himself was the complainant in the case. The incident took place in Jammikunta police limits. According to police, the accused Moluguri Srinivas was addicted to liquor and used to harass his wife Ramya and their son, a minor.

On Thursday, Srinivas came home drunk and did not find his wife home. An infuriated Srinivas questioned his son about the whereabouts of his mother. As the boy did not give a proper response, Srinivas started beating him with sticks. He also rubbed chilli powder on the wounds and poured the hot food prepared in the house on the boy.

Hearing the boy’s screams, neighbours rushed in and rescued him, Jammikunta circle inspector P Prasanth Reddy said. On Friday, the boy along with his mother approached the police and told about the incident to the CI. Police shifted the boy to hospital for treatment and based on his complaint, registered cases against Moluguri Srinivas under various sections and sent him to judicial custody.
