The Patriots have started to put their next roster together. Their first re-signing of the offseason is Brandon Bolden, who signed a one-year through the 2018 season.

An undrafted running back, Bolden made the Patriots 53-man roster in 2012 and has been in Foxboro ever since. Although his contributions on offense have died down, Bolden remains a core special teams player and a teammate that players love to be around. His one-year deal has a base salary of $790,000. According to ESPN, in total, it’s worth $880,000 when you factor in the signing bonus.

The contract also includes $170,000 in guaranteed money, meaning Bolden isn’t a lock to make the team next summer. Last season, the 28-year-old was cut in the final cut-down day. Bolden, however, returned before Week 1 and played in all 16 games in the 2017 season. On offense, he played 42 snaps and ran for 67 rushing yards – the bulk came in Week 16 and 17.

Bolden played 271 special teams snaps, which was the fourth most on the Patriots. He tied for second on the team in special teams tackles.
