Google announced that by the end of 2018, Google Assistant will be able to understand and speak 30 languages, thus covering nearly 95 percent of Android users.

Launched this year, Assistant was available only to English-speaking users, but now supports eight languages, namely French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
Over the next 10 months, Google said it would be adding nearly 22 more languages, subsequently stretching to 30 in the months to come.
Among the new languages detected by Assistant are Danish, Dutch, Hindi, Indonesian, Norwegian, Swedish, and Thai.
Additionally, Google also announced the launch of routines and new integrations for Assistant, starting with Android hardware manufacturers to integrate Assistant with their devices, in order to launch specific features.
The company also said that it would work with phone carriers for Assistant to be used to check users' data usage and other plan details.
