Hi there!

This is Prachi Sharma from ETMarkets.com with a special podcast.

Benchmark equity indices -- BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty -- have corrected over 6 per cent from the all-time highs that they hit last month. The BSE Sensex has already lost over 2,300 points from the all-time high it hit on January 29, last month.

However, the market registered modest gains in the week gone by as recovery materialised towards the end of the week, supported by firm global stocks.

Initial losses in the week were triggered by last week's detection of a massive fraud at a Mumbai branch of the state-run Punjab National Bank (PNB) and loan fraud case by now-defunct Rotomac Pens.

The market dropped in three out of five sessions for the week ended February 23.

The 30-share Sensex closed 0.39 per cent up at 34,142 on Friday against 34010.76 on February 16. Likewise, the NSE Nifty index increased 0.37 per cent to 10,491.05 from 10,452 during the week.

We have Vikas Jain, Senior Research Analyst of Reliance Securities to share his views on the market for next 6 months.
