Locals facilitate cheating in Matric exam

| | JAGATSINGHPUR | in Bhubaneswar

Measures taken by the Government to prevent malpractices during the annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) seemed to be of no effect in Jagatsinghpur district on the first day of the examination on Friday as some locals were seen facilitating cheating at an examination centre.

The incidence took place at the Benubaba Nodal Vidyapitha at Saramula. The locals climbed onto the boundary and parapet of the school building and communicated with the students during the examination.

Notably, in order to prevent malpractices, three-tier squads have been constituted by the BSE. At the District Education Officer (DEO) level, 58 flying squads and 37 central squads have also been formed. Teachers have also been included in these squads.
