Three games to keep you busy this week.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Publishers: Warhorse Studios, Deep Silver

Genre: Action role-playing

Set in the early 15th century in the Kingdom of Bohemia, the plot revolves around Henri, a simple peasant, who seeks revenge for his parents’ murder. Played from a first-person perspective and set in an open-world environment, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has gained popularity for featuring historically accurate and realistic content. The armours, architecture, clothing, combat techniques, and so on, have been recreated by the developer after consulting historians and architects. The graphics and the storyline will ensure that you have an immersive experience while playing the game. It is currently available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition

Publisher: Microsoft Studios

Genre: Real-time strategy

Age of Empires is a real-time strategy game that truly personifies the adage ‘Old is gold’. First released in 1997, the game has attained a cult status among gamers. Now, about 20 years later, it has been refined and revived for the benefit of the new-generation audience. Featuring overhauled graphics with support for 4k resolution, a remastered soundtrack, and a host of other improvements, the game looks fresh while retaining its original essence. Players can choose from different modes such as the popular campaigns or the multiplayer mode.

Subnautica

Publisher: Unknown Worlds Entertainment

Genre: Adventure, survival

The objective of this game is simple: to survive! Featuring an open-world environment, Subnautica is set in the late 22nd century when humans have begun to colonise planets in space. Your spaceship Aurora crashes onto an ‘ocean planet’ early in the game and you’re the lone survivor. To stay alive, you need to manage your oxygen supply, find water, food and other valuable resources, and craft weapons and essential equipment. Subnautica’s gameplay and surroundings are affected by the day and night cycle. Players can choose from three different modes — Freedom, Hardcore and Creative. It has been released for Microsoft Windows, MacOS and Xbox One.
