To galvanize support for the proposed 'Satayagrah’ on agrarian crisis and appointment of Lokpal in New Delhi from March 23, social activist Anna Hazare will be on a two-day visit to Lucknow from February 26.

“This will be a decisive battle for creation of Lokpal and this time Anna ji will sit on fast unto death,” Member of National Core Committee of Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Aandolan Nyas Sunil Lal said in a statement issued in Lucknow on Friday.

As per the programe, Anna will reach Lucknow at 10 am on February 26 and address a public meeting. In the afternoon, he will address the students of Law College in a programme coined ‘Loktantra ki pathshala’.

The next day, Anna will leave for Sitapur where his felicitation programmes will be held at three places. He will leave for Pune on February 28.

Lal said that the main demand of Anna was the appointment of an effective Lokpal. “Why is the government sitting tight on the appointment when the Bill has already been passed by Parliament in 2013,” he asked and added that the ‘satyagrah’ will rake up the issue of plights of farmers.

Hazare, who has been the face of Lokpal movement, had chosen March 23 last year to launch the ‘satyagrah’  as it coincided with ‘Shaheed Diwas’ (Martyr’s Day).
