Demands for grants worth Rs3332.95 crore were passed by voice vote in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.
The grants were as per the budget proposals related to Revenue, Calamity Management, Higher Education, Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department, Science and Technology Department for upcoming fiscal year 2018-19.
Revenue and Technical Education Minister Prem Prakash Pandey informed that in the new fiscal year 2018-19, Rs 608.84 crore has been provisioned for expenditure related relief works in natural calamity affected areas, under Revenue and Calamity management Department.
The Minister informed that taking the problems of citizens into consideration, State Government has decentralized the administration. In the same sequence, five revenue divisions have been made. In year 2004, state had 16 districts, which has now increased to 27.
In the same duration, number of revenue sub-divisions has increased from 61 to 88, number of tehsils has increased from 98 to 150, number of revenue inspector boards has increased from 229 to 720, and number of patwari halka has increased from 3086 and 5777.

Pandey informed that the system of informing land owners about the changes in the revenue records of their lands through SMS on their mobile phones has been started.
He informed that Revenue Department had decided in year 2014-15 to make one village under jurisdiction of each patwari in rural areas free of revenue dispute. About the grant demands of Higher Education Department, Pandey told that now state government has established universities in all five revenue divisional headquarters of Chhattisgarh. In last few years, 105 new government colleges have been opened. This includes 58 colleges in remote areas and tribal areas, the Minister informed. He informed that 30 new government colleges will be established in state in the new budget of academic session 2018-19, for which Rs 15 crores have been provisioned, he said. These colleges will be opened in Lakhanpur (Sarguja district), Gohradpur (Gariaband district), Manora (Jashpur district), Odgi (Surajpur district), Bagbahara and Manora (Jashpur district), Jatga (Korba district), Mainpat (Sarguja district), Naharpur (Kanker district), Kolhari (Koriya district), Aundhi (Rajnandgaon district), Jhalmala (Kabeerdham district), Thelkadih (Rajnandgaon district), Pirda, Chirko and Tendukona (Mahasamund district), Machandur and Jamul (Durg district), Silauti (Dhamtari district), Bhatagaon, Samoda and Gudiyari (Raipur district), Sonakhan, Vatgan and Mopka-Nipaniya (Balodabazar district), Kuikudur (Kabeerdham district), Parpodi (Durg district), Mahud-B (Balod district), Birra (Janjgir-Champa District) and Amora (Mungeli district).
