By-polls to 2 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh and one in Odisha are being held today. Kolaras and Mungaoli in Madhya Pradesh, and Bijepur in Odisha are the constituencies where by-polls are taking place. Voting, which began at 8 AM, will end at 5 PM. The by-polls have been necessitated due to the deaths of sitting Congress MLAs Mahendra Singh Kalukheda, Ram Singh Yadav and Subal Sahu.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the polling. Electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machines will be used at all the polling stations.

The counting of votes will be taken up on Wednesday.
