GST workshop held in Thiruvananthapuram

Kerala Finance Minister TM Thomas Isaac (File | EPS)

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A two-day post-Budget workshop of State GST Department finalised the plan for proper implementation of the new tax system. Finance Minister Thomas Isaac inaugurated the workshop here the other day.

The workshop decided to consider officials’ suggestions for improving the back-end module of state GST. Those traders who migrated to the new system in March-end but did not complete registration process will be subjected to scrutiny by the intelligence wing.In all, 83,642 dealers are yet to submit GST 3B Return and 2,61,527 dealers failed to submit GST R 1 return.

The department will prepare a list of dealers who have not filed returns and officials should encourage them to submit the same.If anomalies are found in availing of credit, intelligence wing will be alerted.
