PM Modi to Visit Chennai today, to launch a Scheme!
Today Prim Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Chennai to launch a state government scheme that will give a Rs 25,000 crore subsidy to women to buy scooters.
This visit is being seen to hint at the AIADMK cosying up to the BJP. The launch of the scheme titled as- Amma Two-wheeler Scheme – has been timed to coincide with the birth anniversary of AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa who had first promised the 50 per cent subsidy scheme in the run-up to the 2016 assembly elections.

PM’s visit comes just days after Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, O Panneerselvam, this confirms the assumptions that the BJP’s top leadership, had a key role to play in the merger of the AIADMK’s two parts; one led by him and another by Chief Minister EK Palaniswami.
As per the sources, Mr Panneerselvam, last week told his supporters that it was the nudge from PM Modi that led him to agree to the merged of the two factions created after Jayalalithaa’s death in December 2016.
On this, ” Narendra Modi said that, Panneerselvam could join the merger just to save the party and under the present circumstances, the two [factions] should merge to save the party.

The PM had met with the leaders of both factions ahead of the merger, assuming that the BJP’s desire to end divisions within the regional party it believes can help it gain some ground in Tamil Nadu and also in the Rajya Sabha, where it is in a minority.
Woman arrested, as She drives into White House barrier
A woman from Tennessee was arrested on Friday as she drives straight into White House security barrier but did not breach it. The woman was driving a vcan and she did all this intentionally. Soon after the incident took place, she was immediately apprehended and put under the bars.
Neither gunfire took place nor any law enforcement personnel were hurt, the Secret Service said in a statement just after the mishap.

“The female was again charged today with numerous criminal violations and transported to the Metropolitan Police Department,” the statement read.

As per the sources, this woman faces charges of unlawful entry, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm, aggravated assault on a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon-car, destruction of government property and contempt of court.
An eyewitness revealed that, “This minivan came and crashed into the barricade and tried to push through the barricade and tires were burning rubber and a lot of smoke was coming up.”
“And then about 30 seconds after that the two security guards that were in the booth, ordered her to stop doing what she was doing and she didn’t listen,” further added the eyewitness.

Kawasaki might set up its own plant in India, post Bajaj split
Posts its split with Bajaj Auto limited in 2017,Kawasaki is on the verge of a massive revamp of its operations in India .
Earlier in April 2017 Bajaj and Kawasaki officially announced that they are no longer partners in sales and service in India and this has set Kawasaki back by many years since the bike makers can no longer continue selling (and servicing) their motorcycles via Bajaj’s widespread network.

The company is establishing a new development center in Pune, where it already has its assembling line. Kawasaki will increase its local procurement,said Yamashita. Currently, the company imports bikes as completely knocked down (CKD) and semi-knocked down units, she further added.
