RS polls for 2 seats

The Election Commission of India today issued notification for Rajya Sabha elections to be held in the country between March 5 and March 26. The polls will take place in Jharkhand for two seats. Polling and counting of votes will take place on March 23. RS MPs Pradeep Balmuchu and PC Gupta will retire in April this year. 

CS visits IT conclave venue

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma on Friday paid an inspection visit to the Nehru Stadium, Dhuwa which is the venue of the IT conclave scheduled this Sunday. She on the occasion also instructed officials for making proper arrangements for sitting, placing LED screens on the dais and hoardings about the summit into the tent. The conclave is slated to showcase rural BPOs, village level entrepreneurship and skilled youth power in the field of information technology in the State. IT Secretary Satyendra Singh, IPRD Director Ram Lakhan Gupta and City SP Aman Kumar were present on the occasion.

Workshop on adopting digital mode at varsities

In an attempt to make all universities ‘Paperless’ through adopting digital medium ‘Chancellor Portal’, a daylong workshop focusing on different facets of online medium was organized here on Friday in presence of Secretary, Department of Higher, Technical and Skill development, Ajoy Kumar Singh. Universities personnel have been instructed to submit preliminary details by March 10 while a state level meeting is scheduled on March 21. Besides, focusing on ‘Online Mode’, the universities must ensure biometric attendance.
