Attack took place in his home

A 28-year-old chaat vendor was hacked to death by three armed men in his house at Kurubarahalli on Thursday night. His wife Anitha, who was at home, told the police that the attackers stormed into the house around 10.30 p.m. They sprayed some chemical into her eyes, which caused her to lose consciousness, before attacking her husband, Narasimhamurthy who was stabbed to death.

According to the police, the assailants wrapped Narasimhamurthy’s body in a bag and pushed it under a cot. While leaving, they locked the door from outside. Anitha regained consciousness on Friday morning. She started screaming for help on seeing blood. The couple’s five-year-old son was reportedly sleeping at the time of the attack, said the police.

“We are verifying CCTV footage from in and around the area, and are inquiring with neighbours to ascertain the identity of the attackers,” said the police.
