Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety can be described as an upgrade or an evolution of an earlier concept. Not very long ago, we were presented with the perspective that marriages are the coming together of two families. Now, evolving this to the next level is Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, wherein the concept dwells into the thought that marriages are the coming together of two friend circles. One can also say that this phenomenon was preexistent and it is only now that it has been utilized in a movie. The film is essentially a unique love triangle, comprising two best friends and a bride that appears too good to be true. It’s a hilarious take on how friendships are affected when a friend decides to get married.

The movie catches up with the lives of Sonu (Kartik Aaryan) and Titu (Sunny Singh), who are childhood besties. Titu is the hopeless romantic and he easily gets swayed by the opposite sex. As a result, he often ends up being heartbroken. However, Sonu always emerges as the savior and he comforts Titu every time he goes through a heartbreak. Nonetheless, things change dramatically when the quintessential good girl, Sweety (Nushrat Bharucha) takes complete control of Titu. This time, Sonu finds it difficult to save his friend, as he has been completely bedazzled by Sweety and can’t wait to marry her. Sonu expresses his doubts about Sweety, but Titu is unwilling to listen, as he has fallen head over heels for Sweety. Will their friendship survive the love blitzkrieg launched by Sweety?

The movie’s concept is really unique, which makes it quite interesting to watch. Although it has misogynistic shades, it does not show women in a bad manner. It’s just a humorous presentation of how relationships work in the real world. All actors have delivered good performances, with Kartik stealing the show with his captivating monologue. The movie builds up an intriguing suspense all throughout and the twist in the tale is revealed towards the end of the movie.

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (SKTKS) is another great movie by Director Luv Ranjan, who had earlier enthralled the audience with Pyaar Ka Punchnama. If you want to know who wins in the end, best friend or girlfriend, you should definitely watch this movie.
