74th death anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi observed at Gandhi Bhavan

I came here to find Gandhi, but I found Kasturba,” said Rafeal de la Rubia founder of World Without War, Spain. He was addressing a gathering held on Thursday to observe the 74th death anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi at Gandhi Bhavan.

The gathering was organised by Sarodaya Mandal Madhya Pradesh and Gandhi Bhawan Trust. Along with the Gandhinians, youth of the city also attended the gathering.

Later, Anuradha Shankar Singh Additional DGP, Madhya Pradesh also addressed the gathering and said, “We always picture Baa (Kasturba Gandhi) on the fringes of freedom struggle but she was actually in the center of it. While addressing the gathering Singh also shared life sketch and moments from the life of Kasturba Gandhi.

She said that Kasturba Gandhi, who is often addressed as ‘Ba’ is an unsung leader of the freedom struggle who took upon herself to lead the freedom struggle when Bapu Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned in 1922.

Kumud Singh and Pragyan Mohanty also talk about contributions made by Kasturba Gandhi. Sunny Kumar recite a poem which he wrote on this occasion.

On this occasion Anuradha Shankar Singh (ADGP), Rafael founder of World without War and Montserrat from Spain, Pragyan Mohanty from PHIA Foundation, Kumud Singh from Sarokar, Mahesh Saxena from Gandhi Bhawan, Ram Kumar Vidhyarthi from Rashtriya Yuva Sangathan and Aneesh Kumar from Sarvodaya Mandal Madhya Pradesh were present.

Aneesh Kumar said that we will gather again on April 11 in Gandhi Bhavan to acknowledge contribution of Baa Kasturba Gandhi on her Birthday.
